Since we are moving to a new metro area, I'm thinking of getting a GPS navigation system for my car. The Garmin nüvi 265WT for a bit over $200 is the one that looks like the right trade-off of capabilities and price. Traffic information might be useful, but it is hard to know without trying it out. Also, traffic information at this price point is ad sponsored, so that may be a deal breaker for me (or can one pay for no ads? Not clear which models come with which options). I'm weary of the mounting since I don't like anything that obscures my view.
Any suggestions about which GPS unit I should get?
Update #1: The Garmin nüvi 755Tseems to be the non-bluetooth ad free version for a bit over $300. Also some additional features like lane guidance. Hm, may not be ad-free. Or both units can turn off ads if you pay...detour routing is better on the 755T.
Update #2: ordered the Garmin nüvi 755T. I'll see if it does the job. I may end up paying to turn off the ads if I use the traffic screen and cannot stand the ads.
On more step into the modern world. But getting lost in metro D.C. at night is probably worth the expense.
Update #3: Hm, this is the first time I've seen this tracking result from UPS:
