We have Republican primary polling in Mississippi. Turns out only 40% of Mississippi Republicans think interracial marriage should be legal, 46% think it should be illegal, 14% don't know.
The party of freedom.
I can see that people believe this, but they still tell pollsters in 2011?
Gallup asked 'Do you approve or disapprove of marriage between blacks and whites?' of interracial marriage in 2007 and got 20% disapproval from non-Hispanic whites. So Republicans in Miss. are about where you'd expect them to be given the national polling?
I can only conclude that Obama isn't going to carry Mississipi in 2012 because these people don't like Obama's radical socialist health care policy.

Update #1: looks like the GSS asked if interracial marriage should be legal until 2002, when the question was dropped. They got in the general population 10% for making interracial marriage illegal in 2002. Given that white Republicans in Miss. are going to be more extreme on this question than the population at large, the 46% number doesn't seem off.
