So Jon Levin has won the Clark Medal...nothing against Levin, but he's not, from my limited exposure, in the genius or even 'wow' category of economist. But who is? Who is the Euler of economics?
Euler is obviously a very high standard, productive and insightful at a level that is hard to grasp, but still, there ought to be a some really really good economists out there and I don't see who they are...why is this? Are they selected out? Is economics just not doable in a highly insightful manner?
