I had scallops for breakfast today, mostly to keep them from going bad after they got thawed out and weren't eaten for dinner since we ended up eating out. The sacrfices I make dieting. Also a big bowl of blue berries this evening.
I'm making an effort to reinforce my diet efforts. I'm doing okay, at 153 lbs despite occassional 'lapses' du to social eating. But that's it. What is noticable though is that my fat distribution seems to be changing, with my legs getting more toned but with more belly fat showing up. So I need to knock off maybe 3-5 lbs more, down to 148-150 lbs. If I go over 150 lbs because I put on muscle and not fat, that is fine. But for now I notice I could get rid of some belly fat.
I'm abandoning skim milk and drinking whole milk again. This reverses my first diet measure ever, back in 1986, taken after I breached 155 lbs. The suggestive evidence suggests this is the best way to go...more on that later. (In other words, my mother was and is right on this point...) I've not made out a source of unpasteurized grass fed milk yet.
I hope to eventually get beyond 20 miles/week of running, up to 35 miles/week, but that will take some time under the slow and gradual plan aimed at injury prevention. More milage should help.
