I ran today around noon in sunny weather, 85+F in the shade. Unlike running at 65F in the morning, I had no problem keeping at my new slow target pace of 9:17 min/mile...I ended up at 9:14 min/mile and I actually felt I was working at the end of 40 minutes. Bright sun and a good deal of humidity, but nothing close to the conditions I can expect in the Summer during the day. What worries me is that early morning conditions are most likely going to be at least this bad, probably noticably worse, in July and August. Running at 7am may no longer be an option and I'll need to move my run to 6 am or 5:30 am just to avoid the heat. Or rather, mitigate the heat.
I assume I'll undergo some heat habituation, but running may be less fun than even the middle of the winter.
