I just got push polled by an outfit calling itself Americans in Contact. They wanted to know if I thought it was important that Obama had close ties with the CEOs of FeddieMac and FannieMae, who had caused the financial crisis.
Americans in Contact's web site says
Today [Oct. 11] the Americans in Contact Political Action Committee (AIC-PAC) launched nationwide voter identification survey calls which will seek to identify conservative voters and persuade them to vote.
So this may just be due to the fact that I gave money to McCain in 2000 in a failed attempt to prevent a Bush presidency. But it seems a very impersonal touch for going after core Republican voters.
That's funny. I found this blog via google because I got the same call about 30 minutes ago. I live in NY but grew up in Texas. I also donated to McCain in 2000 because I feared a Bush presidency. Now McCain has the same group that played dirty against him in 2000 running his campaign.

We've gotten several push polls and I can only assume that it's because spouse is registered unaffiliated. And yet -- spouse thinks it shows how late our state came into play, because if they had bothered cross-tabbing the registrations with any of the other info they should have (to whom we donate, our purchase habits, etc), they would know not to waste their time.
